211 Summer of Service 2008
Take time this summer to give back to your community...
Participating in 211 Summer of Service is easy:
1. You need to be entering grade K-12 in the upcoming school year.
2. Complete 211 minutes (3 ½ hours) of volunteer service during your school's scheduled summer vacation.
3. And submit a Service Journal to 211 Info Bank Volunteer Services by the second week of September, after you return to school.
Each student who completes 211 minutes (3 ½ hours) of volunteer service will be recognized at the annual 211 Summer of Service awards ceremony. This is a chance for you to tell your service story, be recognized for all your hard work and possibly win Summer of Service prizes, including scholarships.
"Volunteering
can be really cool!
I met new friends and learned some new skills. I'm going to put my volunteer experience on my resume.
And it just feels good to do something meaningful." -Megan, age 17
